Oil painting can be expensive; but not if you work in a limited palette. Oil is a magical medium. It comes out of the tube as a formless mass, yet you can form it into an almost-breathing image of a human face. It is truly a magical thing, however the process of learning it requires no magic.
In this workshop I will share with you the techniques of producing a perfectly realist portrait with only a few paints.
We will study the principles of color, learn to mix believable skin tones and practice achieving likeness. We will spend time studying the composition and of course aim at producing a beautiful painting.
Content of the Workshop:
- You will learn the necessary techniques to create a portrait
- You will learn the anatomy of light
- You will learn to work in Limited Palette
- You will watch me demonstrate the techniques live
- You will receive instructional videos
- I will spend one-on-one time with each student while they work.
- You will receive highly personalized visual critique recordings to support your progress
The workshop will take place online but due to the one-on-one aspect the space is limited to 5 students.
All skill level artists are welcome.
