Charcoal is no less tricky then oil or any other medium. If oil is about texture and color, then charcoal is about nuances of likeness.
In this workshop I will share with you the techniques of producing a charcoal portrait that captures likeness and the soul.
We will study the structure of the human head, values and edges, and place a very large emphasis on capturing likeness. We will take the portrait of your special chosen subject to a full finish.
Content of the Workshop:
- You will complete a charcoal drawing of your chosen subject
- You will learn the necessary techniques to structure the head
- You will learn working on toned paper
- You will learn the basis of anatomy of light
- You will watch me demonstrate the techniques live
- You will receive new instructional support materials weekly
The workshop will take place online but due to the one-on-one aspect the space is limited to 6 students.
All skill level artists are welcome.
